Overview:
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee their Construction Materials Testing (CMT) division in Pittsburgh, PA. This position involves managing personnel, ensuring quality project outcomes, overseeing operational processes, and playing a key role in strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct field engineering services and laboratory testing functions. Manage and mentor a team comprising engineers, project managers, and technicians. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, testing standards, and quality assurance procedures. Review and approve technical reports, calculations, and client proposals. Handle budgeting, forecasting, and departmental financial performance. Establish departmental goals and develop team capabilities through targeted training. Collaborate on business development through networking and client interaction. Maintain a strong, values-based organizational culture with high employee engagement.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution PE license or ability to get one
Experience:
6-8+ years in engineering roles related to construction materials testing Hands-on experience in field testing, lab procedures, and site quality control Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects Financial oversight experience, including budgeting and forecasting
