Exempt Reports to: President Summary Job Description We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Commercial Roofing Superintendent to oversee roofing projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. They will lead teams, coordinate with clients and suppliers, and maintain effective communication across all stakeholders. This position assists in managing the field workforce in daily operations including hiring and terminations.

Essential Functions:

Reviews required equipment and labor needs with Project Managers/Estimators for all assigned projects. Participate in pre-construction meetings to be facilitated by the project manager/estimator and attend weekly jobsite meetings as required. Manage and supervise daily operations of commercial roofing projects. Coordinate schedules, materials, and labor to ensure timely project completion. Works in coordination with the corporate Safety Director and Safety Inspectors to make sure safety requirements are met. Enforce company safety protocols and compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and quality. Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Resolve on-site issues promptly to prevent delays. Review and maintain accurate project documentation from the field foreman, including daily reports, potential change orders, and safety records. Monitor project hours and costs and review with Project Managers/Estimators. Conducts pre-inspection of roof work completed on which a manufacturer’s warranty will be issued. Participate in all Operations Meetings to include reviewing current progress on jobs and upcoming work schedules. Lead, train, and motivate crews to meet project goals and safety standards. Processes and prepares necessary documentation relative to field personnel issues to include insubordination, performance, lost time, etc. Reviews daily time to verify hours worked and travel pay to correct inaccuracies. Ensures that field employees are effectively maximizing their time on the jobsite. Reassigns and restructures crew rosters as necessary. Evaluates field employment applications and selects candidates for hire. Investigates customer complaints and take remedial action when necessary and ensure the customer’s expectations are met. Recommends needed capital equipment (tools, vehicles, etc.) to Department Manager so funds can be allocated in the company budget. Stays current on roofing products, techniques, concepts and methods. Flexible to change and acts as a team player. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises field employees in the Commercial Division and assists with hiring and termination authority. Position Type Full-Time Compensation Salary. See offer letter. Benefits See offer letter. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma (Vo-tech preferred) or GED and/or Seven to ten years of roofing construction experience. Travel Ability and flexibility for occasional travel is expected for this position. A current drivers’ license is required. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on site at construction locations. The use of computers, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard outdoor work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials and equipment. Physical Demands The described physical demands below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Keep or regain one’s body balance or to stay upright. Coordinate movements of two or more limbs together while sitting, standing, or lying down. Ability to climb, lift and set up an 80lb. ladder and pull a 40lb. ladder to higher levels. Climb and/or balance yourself. Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. Work outdoors. Sit or stand for significant periods of time (4-8 hours). Typing on and looking at a computer. Talking on the phone/cellphone. Ability to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time and throughout the workday.
