Site Supervisor 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 2 Barnett Lane, West Greenwich, RI 02817 We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavation Supervisor / Operator to join our construction team. This role is responsible for reading site plans, shooting grades, operating heavy machinery to perform excavation and grading tasks, supporting site preparation, utility installation, trenching, septic installation and general earthwork for residential, commercial, or public projects. This Role requires managing scheduels, and supervising site crew.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders. Dig trenches, foundations, footings, and basements to specified grades and depths. Perform site grading, land clearing, and backfilling operations. Load and move materials such as dirt, rocks, gravel, and debris. Site Work Assist with layout and preparation of construction sites. Install underground utilities (storm, sewer, water, electrical). Support site drainage, erosion control, and compacting tasks. Follow site plans, grade stakes, and survey markings to guide work. Safety & Maintenance Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment. Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean and organized job site.

Requirements:

Proven experience operating excavation and site work machinery (7+ years preferred). Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus). Familiarity with reading site plans, elevations, and grade stakes. Knowledge of soils, compaction, and trench safety. Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 10 or 30 Certification. Experience with GPS-guided equipment. Knowledge of local utility regulations and construction codes.

Outdoor construction site environment. Physically demanding tasks, including standing, lifting, and operating machinery for long hours

$35.00 – $45.00 per hour
