Sonepar USA is seeking a Strategic Accounts Manager, ElectricalContracting and Construction, to join our team. In this pivotalrole, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth withintargeted accounts by implementing effective account managementstrategies. This role involves leveraging the full breadth ofSonepar’s offerings to deliver comprehensive solutions to assignedaccounts. You will work closely with the extended Soneparorganization to develop, coordinate, and execute strategic accountplans that encompass all Sonepar’s enterprise capabilities. This is a virtually based opportunity, with the successfulcandidate conveniently located near a major internationalairport.
What You Will Do:
Delivering Results:
Grow the electrical contracting and construction business.
Build and sustain strong relationships with key executives anddecision-makers to ensure long-term partnerships and customersatisfaction. Manage and continuously improve operational effectiveness forexisting accounts. Prospect and acquire new accounts. Utilize sophisticated sales acumen, including executiveleadership selling, high-level negotiating, strategic planning, andproactive problem-solving. Implement and manage a robust sales process, ensuring bestpractices are followed to maximize efficiency and effectiveness inclosing deals. and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenuetargets within the electrical contracting industry. Provide information on current and future pursuits and pipelineacross the assigned account. Forecast and track growth against the account plan and maintaina pipeline of opportunities. Support the overall Service strategy and contribute to thedevelopment of value propositions and marketing collateral.
Customer Understanding and Value Proposition Development:
Continuously seek ways to add value to clients throughinnovative solutions, exceptional service, and a thoroughunderstanding of their business needs and challenges. Build and maintain relationships with the customer’s executivemanagement team and other decision-makers. Develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment at theexecutive level with customer relationships. Engage Sonepar’s executive management with customers asappropriate.
Strategic Account Planning and Business Development:
Deliver results according to plan. Prepare and deliver regular forecast reports. Negotiate and close contracts. Oversee renewals and ensure compliance. Identify and grow new business opportunities and expand marketshare.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with operating companies to align salesstrategies, share insights, and ensure a cohesive approach tomarket penetration and customer engagement. Serve as an executive-level point of escalation for customersatisfaction issues. Engage appropriate sales support resources, includingfunctional experts, operational, engineering, technical, financial,and legal support when necessary. Ensure customers and Sonepar receive maximum value fromdedicated and assigned resources, maintaining consistent brandingand messaging. Track and report on key performance metrics, providing regularupdates to senior management and making data-driven recommendationsfor improvement.
Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure that case studies, account overviews, and best practicesdocuments for assigned accounts are current and complete. Develop and negotiate agreements that favorably representSonepar’s commercial and legal interests, ensuring compliance withall laws and business policies. Determine customer service/solution and material requirementsand coordinate unified proposals across OperatingCompanies. Utilize internal and external resources to stay informed ofmarket trends and product developments impacting enterpriseaccounts. Monitor and evaluate the activities of the competition and be aknowledge source of market conditions for your customer base. What You Bring to the
Role:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing,business management, finance, or a related field. MBApreferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in businessdevelopment/account management success in the USA electricalcontracting and or construction segment. Initiative-taking, detail-oriented, acts with a sense ofurgency and able to meet deadlines. Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP relatedsoftware tools, presentation creation and utilizing data to drivebusiness discussions/decisions Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively withstakeholders (internal/external). Ability to travel across the USA on average 50%. Authorized to work in the USA without employment sponsorshipnow or in the future.
