Construction/General Manager Targeted HR Consulting Lexington, SC 29072 Are you a hands-on, strategic leader with a deep understanding of construction operations and a knack for mentoring high-performing teams? We’re looking for a General Manager to take charge of a residential electrical company based in the Lexington area in a growing construction services environment. This role combines operations leadership , employee management , and client relationship oversight —with a strong focus on efficiency, profitability, and team development .
What You’ll Do:
Set and implement strategic goals across the branch, aligning people, processes, and projects Oversee residential electrical work (track homes/production housing), including electricians and support staff Recruit, train, and mentor employees—including Construction Managers and field staff Lead project estimating, subcontractor supervision, material oversight, and budget management Collaborate with executive leadership on operational improvement, budgeting, and process development Serve as the key liaison with clients to ensure satisfaction, timely delivery, and service excellence Maintain high standards in safety, compliance, and quality control across all operations Coordinate job assignments across trades (electricians, carpenters, plumbers, etc.) Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and overall profitability tracking Drive staff meetings, provide leadership development, and model accountability and integrity
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years in construction management (residential experience a plus) 3+ years in people leadership, with budgeting and operational oversight Experience with basic accounting, estimating, and forecasting Proven success in mentoring and developing teams Strong client-facing and communication skills—must be comfortable managing expectations Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent field experience) Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general business systems Valid U.S. driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance approval Local candidates preferred Occasional in-state travel required (SC only) Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without work visa sponsorship.
