Assists in determining the needs for all Permanent Improvement Projects and reports to the Director of Facility Management. Conducts feasibility studies, prepares cost estimates, and compiles documentation to support project proposals. Supports project planning, scheduling, and contractor coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective execution. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess facility needs, maintain compliance, and monitor project progress. Leads major maintenance and repair projects, oversees the renovation and installation of architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems. This includes close coordination with architects, contractors, and other stakeholder, ensuring all project phases are executed efficiently and meet the desired outcomes. Supports the Director of Facility Management by planning and directing major construction, renovation, and maintenance activities. This includes site selection, preparation of plans and specifications, selecting consulting architectural and engineering firms, inspecting project progress, ensuring compliance and recommending payment approvals and change orders as per the contract documents. Manages small construction projects, ensuring the appropriate engineer (civil, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical) is consulted and involved in construction and renovation activities. Ensures projects are organized and completed in a timely manner, utilizing Asana for preventative maintenance program development. Develops detailed programmatic requirements, including architectural drawings and specifications, to guide small repair, maintenance, and renovation projects from concept to completion. Collaborates with State and local officials to ensure compliance with codes, laws, and regulatory issues, as well as fire safety measures for all buildings and grounds. Prepares and processes necessary State, Federal, and local documents and forms required for permanent improvement projects. Additional projects as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 5 years of experience in a relevant program management; OR An associate’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 7 years of experience in a relevant program management. Understanding of building systems, construction, project management. Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the SC State Government regulations relating to the planning and execution of State permanent improvements is preferred.
