Domtar is seeking a Contractor Coordinator to join our team at the Marlboro Mill in Bennettsville, SC where approximately 1000 tons of pulp and paper products are produced daily. Job Summary
The primary role of the Contractor Coordinator includes functioning as the liaison between onsite contractors and the Domtar Marlboro Mill while promoting safety and supporting the high-performance work system. Reporting to the Manager of the Manufacturing Services Department (MSD), the Contractor Coordinator provides contractor support for MSD as well as the other business units within the Mill. Key Responsibilities Liaison between onsite contractors and the mill
Provide contractor support for each business unit
Lead electrical, mechanical, and civil contractors with a strong emphasis on safety
Responsible for ensuring contractor Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are completed prior to the start of work
Plan and schedule contractor work, including coordination and prioritization of onsite contractor work with departments around the Mill
Manage onsite contractor workorder backlog
Responsible for scheduling the appropriate manpower of onsite contractors, including coordinating extra staff and materials for short shutdowns as well as Annual Outages.
Write notifications / work orders and maintain service entries for work in the Mill
Manage break-in work and direct resources appropriately
Create purchase requisitions as needed
Provide monthly accruals for accounting
Review and approve invoices from contractors
Support the HVAC crew and retain the appropriate files
Manage the landscaping contract
Serve as a representative on the Central Safety Committee
Participate in weekend call rotation for the Mill Support the Mill on nights / weekends with contractors
Be able to look out for Domtar’s best interest
Domtar Designated Representative (DDR) for contractors Required Qualifications / Experience Strong advocate for the Mill’s safety policies and procedures; advanced experience, knowledge and understanding of safe work practices
Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions, and resolve issues efficiently and effectively
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments and individuals (internal and external) Preferred Qualifications / Experience Five (5) years of experience in heavy manufacturing
Experience scheduling the appropriate manpower
Experience in using MS Excel
Understanding the competitive bidding process and how to select a contractor
A proven high-level of troubleshooting skills – analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving
Ability to work independently and as a team
Results focused and detail-oriented
SAP experience and the work order system, including requisitioning materials from the Storeroom Critical Competencies for Success Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the Mill as well as contractors
Ability to prioritize time and multi-task Excellent computer skills You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
