Job Description
Signature Construction is looking to fill an Assistant Superintendent position in Columbia, SC. Ideal candidates would have Multi-Family Construction experience, but it is not required. Qualified candidates should also have a thorough understanding of the building construction process, quality control, general safety knowledge, and experience with turnover procedures to the Owner. Individuals should have strong leadership skills and be able to communicate effectively with the project team and all parties involved. Responsibilities Assist in the coordination all construction related activities Monitor, update, and enforce the project schedule Understand, manage, and enforce subcontractor work scopes Maintain daily/weekly project reporting requirements for daily journals, manpower, and safety Coordination of deliveries from suppliers and installers Perform quality control inspections, ensuring requirements contained in the plans, specifications, and approved submittals are being followed Distribute punch lists as required and manage the process through completion Coordinate and schedule municipal inspections with local authorities Coordinate and schedule required testing and inspections Promote job site safety by performing daily/weekly safety inspections, toolbox talks and required reporting, understands hazards, and have the ability to correct them immediately Be able to identify potential issues on the project and utilize resources to find resolution Maintain relationships with project team, owners, architects, engineers, and municipalities. Assist in all final building, site, and fire inspections in order to obtain certificate of occupancy Manage the final punch process for construction to owner takeover Qualifications Excellent communication skills Ability to maintain composure and work through issues while under pressure Construction Management degree or similar Minimum of 1-5 years’ experience in the construction industry Multi-Family Construction experience preferred but not required Experience with construction management software Experience with quality control and production of multifamily projects 10-hour OSHA certified
