CommercialConstruction Assistant Project Manager Job Description:
AnAssistant Project Manager (APM) obtains, evaluates, coordinates anddistributes the information and authorizations necessary toconstruct projects on time, within budget and to the qualityspecified. The APM is responsible to protect and promote theinterest of both the business and client in all matters as well asdemonstrate the personal characteristics of a beginner-levelleader. While learning paths, growth and promotional opportunityvary, most team members are APMs for two to six years.
Responsibilities Maintain adherence to HITT’s standards of safetyEnsure that required documentation is filed Assist in creating andmanaging project budget for all assigned projects Developpre-construction RFP package Assist in conducting project meetings,setting milestones and formulating monthly owner report Establishjob processes (RFIs, submittals, and pay applications) includingapproving pay applications and negotiating subcontract changeorders Update project schedule; ensure project quality control andestablish overall project logistics Assist in managing the closeoutprocess Collaborate with the project superintendent and siteoperations team throughout the life of the project QualificationsHigh school diploma required, four-year degree from an accrediteduniversity with a concentration in construction, engineering, orbusiness is strongly preferred In lieu of a degree, additional workexperience is acceptable 2-5 years’ experience in commercialconstruction, including experience with a commercial generalcontractor Previous experience on commercial job sites stronglypreferred Passion for construction and our industry; ability torecognize and seek quality Ability to mastersector/project-specific software systems including but not limitedto: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook,PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, JD Edwards Mustdemonstrate a strong ability to: Communicate clearly, concisely,and professionally, with a strong focus on audience appropriatebusiness writing and verbal skills Demonstrate a positive attitudeand passion for construction and our industry Gather data,interpret it into meaningful information, and relay thatinformation through clear, concise communication strategies;ability to see how pieces and processes fit into and affect thebigger picture/business model Organize and manage tasks andpriorities Demonstrate integrity consistently with The HITT Way andHITT’s core values Seek continuous improvement of knowledge andabilities, internal focus on self-improvement Adapt and exerciseflexibility with the ever-changing world of technology, design,means and methods Collaborate with people of various backgroundsand styles Create and maintain relationships with colleagues,clients, subcontractors, and vendors Exhibit respectfulness bybeing punctual, engaged/focused, and respectful of others HITTContracting, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse and inclusiveenvironment.
