Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Electrical Field Manager to oversee both the scheduling and coordination of electrical Rough and Trim phases for new residential construction with multiple builders, and the daily management of our team of service electricians in the Midlands area. This role requires a strong blend of administrative efficiency, technical troubleshooting ability, and effective team leadership in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the scheduling of Midlands area electrical Rough and Trim jobs for multiple home builders, ensuring timely completion.
- Act as a primary point of contact for builder project managers regarding scheduling and service work needs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the accurate and timely completion of Rough and Trim jobs.
- Monitor inventory system, communicating to owners, builders and suppliers about material needs.
- Record and track jobs and work orders accurately in the Bolt software system.
- Verify job site readiness and reschedule work as necessary.
- Oversee and manage a team of 10+ service electricians in the Midlands area on a daily basis.
- Create individualized daily schedules for each service electrician, matching their experience level to specific job requirements.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting guidance, and mentorship to service electricians and subcontractors, answering any questions based on code requirements and builder specifications.
- Manage and track Punch work, QC Reports, Warranty Appointments, and Emergency Appointments for the service team, providing reports as necessary.
- Generate VPO (Variance Purchase Order) requests for extra trips and ensure the legitimacy of all back charges.
- Monitor service electrician GPS to ensure compliance with company policy.
- Communicate regularly with office staff regarding permit requests, warranty requests, and scheduling adjustments. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Efficiency of service electricians and subcontractors.
- Accurate creation of VPO requests for extra trips.
- Ensuring all back charges are legitimate.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential electrical work.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Experience using electrical scheduling software (e.g., Bolt – ECI Mark systems).
- Familiarity with builder portals (e.g., SupplyPro, InternetToolkit/ITK).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, builders, and office staff.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Moderate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and residential building requirements.
