As a Surgical Project Design Manager at STERIS, you areresponsible for coordinating Healthcare Design Team resources towin more, and a larger share of, healthcare project business. Thisis done by serving as a consultant to hospitals and systemsundergoing construction and/or renovation, ensuring positioning ofSTERIS’s products and services maximize the specific Customer goalsand address both short-term and long-term needs. You will prospectand pursue future project business through active involvement andestablishing relationships with architects, consultants, andequipment planners. You will have key involvement in oversight andliaison activities for all aspects of the process and manage theinterest of an extremely diverse group of stakeholders (bothinternal and external). Capital projects may range 6-48 months andoccur over multiple phases. Additionally, you will serve as the key”hub” for the coordination of Healthcare resources throughcomprehensive project management and ongoing communication, followup and training as required. You will also be responsible fordeveloping and maintaining relationships with the entire healthcarefield team as well as equipment planners, architects, consultants,and engineers. This is a remote based Customer facing position. Tosupport and service our Customers in this assigned territorycandidates must be based out of one of the following states:

Nashville, TN What will you do as a Project Design Manager?

  • Serveour Customers as a STERIS Project Consultant by identifyingCustomers’ needs, ensuring the conceptual design and space planningrequirements are met.
  • Conduct Customer presentations and providea comprehensive view to STERIS’s complete offering of all productsand services.
  • Serve as technical consultant for Account Managersand externally for architectural community, consultants, planners,contractors, and Customers.
  • Formulate and define scope of workand objectives, and develops project work plans including timeframes, funding limitations, contract costs, risk factors, etc. tovarious phases of a project.
  • Responsible for managing designdeliverables for projects from initial analysis through installwith oversight of the entire project through completion.
  • Collaborate with architectural and engineering hospitalconsultants, reviews all drawings and specifications to ensure thatthe design is appropriate, cost effective, code compliant andaccurately reflected within the Customers documents.
  • Prepare andmonitor the project planning, design, regulatory, and/orconstruction phases, recommend project budget needs and ensureproject deliverables stay on-time, on-target, and on-budget.
  • Perform project management work by managing, coordinating, anddirecting large, complex, multi-disciplinary development,redevelopment, and capital improvement projects including projectinitiation, development, execution, and project coordination withour Customers and other internal/external stakeholders.
  • EducateAccount Managers on project life cycles, key milestones, softwareproject applications and how to leverage available resources toprovide a comprehensive overview of the total STERIS offering tocreate Customer solutions.
  • Conduct classes and training seminars,educating the professional community, and serving in a consultativeand supportive role.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of documented successfulHealthcare capital sales experience
  • Knowledge of technical,professional, and business in the fields of healthcare delivery,architecture, and construction and building design process
  • Knowledge of space planning and construction/remodel projects
  • Good understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing)building systems
  • Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safetystandards
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 40%
  • Must be able tobe compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirementsPreferred
  • 2 years of Sales Management experience
