Project-Based, Intermittent Role Role Summary:
Adapt Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial and federal construction projects across the U.S. This is a project-based, intermittent position active projects will require your full-time, on-site leadership , followed by downtime between assignments. It’s ideal for seasoned professionals ready to stay involved in the field without returning to a nonstop schedule. This role focuses on field oversight and communication management , with occasional light bags-on work to keep projects moving. You’ll guide subcontractors, enforce compliance, and represent Adapt with confidencethen step back until the next build is ready. Acceptable experience includes : Superintendent, Quality Control Inspector, Jobsite Lead, or similar roles. Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial or federally funded construction projects is required. Responsibilities:
Lead jobsite execution for commercial and government-funded construction projects Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, deliveries, and safety procedures Maintain field documentation, daily logs, and updates using JobTread Ensure compliance with OSHA, Davis-Bacon, certified payroll, and related regulations Serve as primary on-site contact for inspectors, clients, and internal teams Support kickoff, closeout, and punch list phases Travel as needed to job sites throughout the U.S. Handle field-level problem-solving and communication across stakeholders Support safe, clean, and professionally run jobsites
Ideal Persona:
Deep field experience in commercial or public-sector construction Knows how to guide subcontractors, solve field issues, and keep teams on task Familiar with prevailing wage projects, government reporting, and safety compliance Confident communicator and independent operator Comfortable with construction tech tools (JobTread or similar Enjoys meaningful project work and values downtime between assignments Looking for a company that respects your skillset and values flexibility
