Maintenance management Manufacturing Senior level 4 years Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description NVE Inc. is seeking a Chief (Site Supervisor) in support of an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract in Memphis, TN. The Chief shall be on-site from 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday and at any other times required to effectively manage all contract work. Candidate shall be journeyman level capable of operating the chiller and boiler plant and associated equipment, as well as knowledgeable in electrical systems. Shall be responsible for making all critical decisions for contract operations in the absence of the Project Manager. As a minimum, the Chief shall possess at least four (4) years of recent experience (within the past 7 years) in operating and maintaining facilities and as a supervisor directing personnel responsible for accomplishment of similar operations, maintenance and repair work of equal or greater complexity than this facility (>900K SF of office and data center space). This includes but is not limited to experience in accomplishing preventive maintenance management and repairs to the following types of systems with similar rated capacities: UPS Systems; Large Chiller Plants; Low Pressure Boilers; Computerized fire alarm systems; Emergency Generators; High Voltage Switchgear; Computerized Building Automation Systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Chief Engineer is responsible for determining work methods, trade techniques, equipment and materials to be used in accomplishing assignments for personnel under their supervision. Assign work to subordinates utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maintain building operations Provide Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed Perform diagnostic and repairs on building systems Prepare work schedules Train, or arrange for training of employees in the proper maintenance of building systems Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair work on a daily basis to provide on-time delivery of contract requirements Experience and Qualifications Knowledge and experience in a combination of trades/skills (i.e. electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance. Experience in technical operations in facility management systems and/or service industry to include working, coordinating, supervising, and planning mechanical/electrical maintenance functions. Experience with office buildings and data center environments a must. Ability to read Architectural and Manufacturing blueprints and generate design concepts using available tools. Capable with basic office equipment to include cell phone, tablet, telephone, fax and copy scanner. Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Suite of products including Excel, Outlook, and Word is desired. Functional knowledge of Building Automation Systems and monitoring controls.
