Salary:

Starting pay $18.00 per hr. At CD Staffing we are a leading provider in the metal recycling industry, committed to sustainability and the efficient processing of scrap metal. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Mobile Shear Crane Operator to join our dynamic team at our scrap yard.

Position Overview:

The Mobile Shear Crane Operator will be responsible for operating a mobile shear crane to safely and efficiently handle and process scrap metal materials. This role requires strong mechanical skills, an attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a mobile shear crane to cut, lift, and move scrap metal materials within the yard. Safely load, unload, and transport metal scrap to designated processing areas. Perform routine maintenance checks on the crane and report any issues to the maintenance team. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with organizing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Collaborate with team members to optimize efficiency in the yard.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating a mobile shear crane or similar heavy equipment. Knowledge of metal scrap yard operations and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics (preferred). Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid crane operator certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain certification. Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working in a noisy and sometimes dusty environment.
