We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to operate various types of cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. The Crane Operator will work closely with riggers and site teams to ensure operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate mobile, tower, overhead, or truck-mounted cranes to lift and move materials and equipment. Inspect cranes and rigging equipment before and after use to ensure safety and functionality. Set up cranes and ensure proper load configurations, stability, and alignment. Communicate with signalers and site personnel using hand signals or radio to coordinate crane movements. Monitor crane operation and adjust as needed to prevent overloading or unsafe conditions. Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning of crane equipment. Follow all safety protocols, load charts, and operational guidelines. Document daily activities, inspections, and maintenance performed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a crane operator (minimum 3 years preferred). Valid crane operator certification/licensing (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent). Strong understanding of load dynamics, rigging procedures, and crane capacities. Familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards). Physical strength and stamina; ability to work in varying weather conditions. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with specific crane types (e.g., crawler, telescopic, tower). Forklift or other heavy machinery certifications. Ability to read blueprints and lift plans.
