Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Crane Operator to operate various types of cranes (e.g., overhead, gantry, mobile, or tower cranes) to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment in the industrial settings of our manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and/or construction sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with crane controls, a deep understanding of load charts and safety protocols, and the ability to communicate effectively with rigging and ground crews. ________________________________________
Key Responsibilities:
Operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect cranes daily to ensure proper working condition and report any maintenance needs. Follow load charts and comply with lifting capacities and safety regulations. Communicate with signalers, riggers, and ground crew using hand signals, radios, or intercoms. Secure loads properly using slings, shackles, chains, and other rigging equipment. Maintain accurate logs and records of operations and inspections. Monitor surroundings and maintain awareness to avoid collisions or safety hazards. Participate in safety meetings and adhere to company policies and OSHA regulations. ________________________________________
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Proven preferred). Certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) or equivalent (preferred or required depending on jurisdiction). Strong knowledge of crane mechanics, load limits, and rigging practices. Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, load charts, and lift plans. Strong safety mindset and attention to detail. ________________________________________
Working Conditions:
Exposure to loud noises, dust, and varying temperatures in industrial or construction environments. Requires standing, climbing, bending, and lifting for extended periods. May work at heights or in enclosed crane cabs. ________________________________________
Preferred Skills:
Experience with overhead bridge cranes and remote-control systems is a plus. Basic mechanical troubleshooting abilities is a plus. Forklift certification or experience with other heavy equipment is a plus.
