Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects
- Plan all lifts and take charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts
- Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection
- Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers
- Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property
- Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators
- Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Crane Operator Journeyman in an ever-changing Construction site in close proximity to others
- NCCCO LBC and TLL Certifications
- Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position
- Knowledgeable in OSHA standards
- Communication and interpersonal skills are a must
- Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-power tools as well as measurement tools
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as requiredWorking Conditions
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- May be required to use ladders and/or manlifts to access required equipment/work areas, so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, and ladders
- Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
- Exposed to high noise levels
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
