The rig drills diameters of 24 inches to 6 inches, down to total depths in excess of 1000′ for both test wells and production wells. The majority of these Wells are developed into Municipal drinking water resources. Below is a list of the job duties for the Well Drilling Assistant. This list is not an all-inclusive list. The Well Drilling Assistant is directed daily by the Well Drilling Operator and/or the Well Drilling Superintendent. Please find the duties/requirements as follows: Must work within Morrow Water Technologies and MSHA Safety Guidelines Mechanically inclined Class B—CDL’s would be a plus (clean driving record—current AL DL is a must) Able to work outside in weather extremes (heat, cold, and rain) Experience in welding/torching/cutting would be a plus Lifting up to 75lbs. Climbing ladders and up and down off trucks/trailers Assist Drilling Operator with tripping in/out drill stems and casing Tightening/loosening sections of pipe/drill bits Familiarity with equipment operations (trucks, forklifts, lifting equipment, rigging experience) Assist in procuring water with water truck or construction pump from creek or other body of water or hydrant. Provide routine maintenance on the rig and all support equipment Ensure that equipment is prepared for cold weather at the end of shifts Willingness to take direction and work on a team, sometimes with little supervision Primarily day shift hours, but can be long days in excess of 12 hrs. Night shift work may be required if the particular job/project dictates it. Need to be willing to work not often but sometimes weekends and out of town work. Est. starting rate $20/hr.—may be negotiable with experience and qualifications
