Job Description

Directional Bore Operator 2.4 2.4 out of 5 stars Cape Coral, FL We are hiring a qualified Directional Bore Drillerfor the South Florida market. The Directional Driller is responsible for operating all equipment necessary to install communications civil infrastructure on assigned projects, in alignment with all specifications, appropriate codes, and all company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the drilling site by assessing the area, marking locations for boreholes, and ensuring the site is safe and compliant with regulations before beginning work; Safely operate and maintain drilling machinery such as directional drills, augers, and related tools to create boreholes for laying underground cables or conduits; Drill precise boreholes and create underground pathways for utility lines, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and infrastructure; Review construction blueprints, maps, and utility plans to ensure accurate drilling and avoid existing underground utilities; Follow all relevant safety standards, including OSHA regulations, and use protective gear to ensure the safety of the team and surrounding areas during drilling operations; Regularly inspect and maintain drilling equipment to prevent breakdowns, troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise, and ensure the smooth operation of the bore drilling process.

Requirements:

At least 3 years of drill operating experience; A valid, unrestricted CDL class A/B is a must; Proven experience in underground utility construction; Read, understand, and interpret engineering plans and specifications; Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time; Ability to work 5-6 days per week in an all-weather environment and be willing to travel as required.
