Horizontal Directional Driller Position Available In Natchitoches, Louisiana

Horizontal Directional Driller GLO Resources LLC Natchitoches, LA 71457 GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Horizontal Directional Driller to work in Natchitoches, LA . The pay rate is between $22-$26 per hour, depending on experience, with per diem available for employees who meet requirements. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am-5:30 pm.

Position Summary:

The role of a Horizontal Directional Driller classification requires skill sets and abilities to work in many facets of our industry (horizontal/directional drilling operations, locator/guidance tracker systems, driving light and heavy-duty trucks with or without trailers, operate site equipment such as tractor, backhoe, trenching machine, skid steer, etc.) Plastic Welding/Fusion certifications and duties also fall under this employee classification, as all the skill sets noted above apply within the construction and maintenance of the gas distribution and general utility services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground utilities
• Reads utility locates and coordinates the day lighting of these facilities.
• Ensures all applicable permits and locates are complete and on site.
• Inspects the work that is in progress to ensure that the workmanship conforms to specifications.
• Operates construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
• Level earth to final grade specifications.
• Operates vehicles and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified.
• Safely and skillfully operate and maintain construction equipment and assigned vehicles (drilling rigs, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steers, and other utility construction equipment needed).
• Visually assess digging areas to ensure that areas have been staked/located before digging.
• Stake/locate work areas before digging.
• Ensure there are proper clearances to install the product per standards.
• Record the depth of the tool head as required.
• Maintain and properly submit bore logs to the supervisor.
• Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product
• Oversee laborers and/or crew members’ work and monitor time usage.
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• Must obtain a CDL Class A driver’s license
• Willing to submit to a MVR/driving record check, drug screen, and physical.
• Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build process.
• Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and work overtime as required.
• Experience with different-sized Vermeer or Ditch Witch units and various brands of locating equipment.
• Must meet all required gas system Operator Qualifications (OQ) as defined for this position.
• Understand Code of Federal Regulations 49, Dept.

of Transportation Office of Pipeline Safety regulations as they apply to this position.
