Mud Logging Drilling Fluids Specialist Pay Rate:
$50 – $60 per hour
Schedule:
14 days on / 14 days off (12-hour days, offshore; potential for 7/7 rotation)
Travel:
Required to dock; per diem and mileage reimbursed with receipt
Experience:
Junior (5+ years O&G), Senior (10+ years O&G)

Recognized D&C School, Safeland, TWIX, medical/QHS/HS requirements About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mud Logging Drilling Fluids Specialist to support offshore drilling operations. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing drilling mud samples, ensuring the use of proper drilling fluids, and delivering safe, efficient, and reliable service to customers. You will play a key part in monitoring wellsite conditions, optimizing fluid programs, and supporting safety and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities Collect, process, and analyze mud samples to ensure proper drilling fluids are used. Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time to customers and drilling teams. Execute service delivery with a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliability. Participate in job risk analysis, continual improvement, and HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) programs. Develop and maintain customer relationships to promote company products and services. Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards through self-assessments and wellsite inspections. Participate in Service Quality Meetings and implement performance improvement action plans. Wear PPE and observe all HSE policies; maintain required safety training. Utilize drilling fluid modeling and simulation software (e.g., Drilling Fluids Graphics, Virtual Hydraulics) to engineer and optimize fluid programs. Use mud reporting software (e.g., MUDPRO+) to track properties, additives, and inventory, and generate reports. Manage data using systems like MudManager for centralized tracking and evaluation. Qualifications 5+ years of recent oil & gas experience in mud logging and drilling fluids (10+ years for senior level). Recognized D&C school certification. Valid Safeland, TWIX, and medical/QHS/HS certifications. Strong understanding of drilling fluid properties and mud logging techniques. Experience with drilling fluid modeling, simulation, and reporting software. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work offshore on rotational shifts and travel as required. Why Join Us?
