Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Underground Drilling Laborer to join our team. This role involves working in various field environments to support underground drilling operations. The ideal candidate will assist with site preparation, equipment operation, material handling, and safety compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

Perform manual excavation by hand-digging holes to expose underground utilities and set structures. Assist with job site setup, maintenance, and cleanup to ensure a safe and organized work environment. Safely operate small electric and gas-powered tools, including jackhammers, compactors, and saws. Work effectively in residential neighborhoods, roadways, and commercial job sites while maintaining professionalism and safety standards. Drive company trucks to transport crew members, tools, and materials to and from job sites. Assist in loading and unloading drilling equipment, tools, and materials. Work safely around excavation and heavy drilling equipment, following all safety protocols. Support drilling operators and technicians in all aspects of underground telecommunication and utility installation projects. Follow company policies and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Previous experience in underground construction, drilling, or a similar labor-intensive industry is highly preferred. Familiarity with underground utility installation, excavation, or telecommunications work is a plus. Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments. Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to learn and adapt to different job tasks. CDL or ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license is a plus. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Skills & Abilities:

Understanding of underground utility safety practices. Ability to operate and maintain basic power tools and small construction equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Physical endurance to lift, carry, and move heavy materials. Ability to work in confined spaces and trenches when necessary.
