With Master Construction Agreements with Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Crown Castle, Segra, Suddenlink, Windstream, and RCN in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and Coaxial systems. FNS is looking for a Directional Drill Operator for our Dandridge/ Knoxville, KY area . The role will provide hands on duties for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedule, and budget in accordance with company policies and procedures. The position will be under the direction of the Foreman. Job Duties (but not limited to) Preform Horizontal Directional Drilling work activities to ensure work operations are being completed safely and efficiently. Preforms the maintenance of the crews assigned fleet equipment and maintenance of service documents. Aids and training to Horizontal Directional Drilling operators and labors to improve skills and proficiency. Ensures that you adhere to and understand safe equipment usage practices and company requirements. Ability to manage 3 or more employees on the crew. Responsible for completing required paperwork daily including but not limited to daily timesheets, daily production reports, incident reports, vehicle reports, and others as needed. Train crew members in accordance with company safety policies Preform the daily operations in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements while continually monitoring site for changing safety conditions and related issues. Preform all work in compliance with installation standards. All other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
Job Requirements :
High School Diploma or Equivalent 3+ years of hands-on horizontal direction drilling experience Industry knowledge of Horizontal Directional Drilling tooling including drill head dirt bits, reamers, and rock bits Industry knowledge of Horizontal Directional Drilling safety requirements and practices Industry knowledge of horizontal drill equipment management work processes and procedures Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment Ability to learn and gain knowledge Ability to follow instructions Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures Positive attitude Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting for long periods of time Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by OSHA and/or customer the work is being done for. Be able to handle long exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions Able to lift 50lbs and more Valid driver’s license required CDL License is preferred
