Course Description:
Introductory into RNC electrical. Content includes electrical material identification, wire sizing, installation methods and efficiency techniques. Included within this course is full hands-on experience with electrical tools and materials. The student will develop a basic understanding within RNC electrical installations with troubleshooting skills and knowledge to perform full home electrical installations in the RNC market.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to: Cite key electrical terms. Identify electrical components within residential electrical. Properly wire a residential home to meet code per NEC2017. Understand and read blueprints. Effectively follow safety requirements. Identify electrical phases of power supply. Draw circuitry wiring of a home. Perform continuity testing. Install and test electrical devices. Effectively use hand and power tools. Perform full home wiring off of a blueprint without direction.
Instructional Methods:
On site lectures in real world application. Interactive discussions in which students will be expected to participate. Written assignments. Hands on assignments full time (main source of instruction). Quizzes and exams.
Requirements:
At least 18 years of age or older High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalency Able to pass Basic Skills Test and Drug Screen. Ability to commit & complete a 17-week hands-on paid training program. Have your own reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license. Be able to climb up & down ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. Familiarity with hand tools.
