Job Description:
Cimarron is seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to support the Space Launch System (SLS) program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) will be the most powerful rocket ever built, engineered to support deep space exploration. Key Duties :
Install flight test and production sensors, wire harnesses, data acquisition components, video, and C-Band systems integrated into multiple test vehicles. Ensure accurate installation per released engineering, troubleshoot installation issues, perform post-installation checkouts, track installed sensor attributes, and update released engineering when changes are approved. Fabricate, assemble, repair, modify, and maintain electromechanical components of human-rated spacecraft systems and related ground systems. Troubleshoot spacecraft and ground systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, to identify and repair mechanical or electrical faults. Perform fabrication tasks such as wire harness fabrication and precision cleaning to support assembly. Verify the accuracy of work performed and conduct self-inspection duties as needed. Conduct periodic maintenance on assembly machines and tooling. Document automated assembly tasks performed in accordance with applicable procedures. Coordinate with management to establish work priorities and ensure efficient workflow. Perform functional checks on installed systems using advanced troubleshooting techniques for avionics, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and integrated systems.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :

Ability to pass physical examination (visual acuity, color perception, respiratory, etc.) to meet production certification and safety requirements. Ability to work any assigned shift (1st or 2nd) and overtime, if needed. 1 or more years of related experience. Experience with wire harness fabrication and assembly. Electro-mechanical skills, including wire harness fabrication, routing, and repair; electrical crimping and splicing; installation of ESD components; electrical bonding, electrical grounding, and heater bonding; system testing; installation of test instrumentation such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermal couples, resistance temperature devices, and pressure transducers. Multi-discipline job skills in more than one discipline across a variety of spacecraft subsystems, including structural, mechanical, and ordnance systems; hypergolic propulsion systems; environmental control and life support systems; electrical power systems; avionics systems; thermal protection systems; active thermal control systems; guidance navigation, and control systems; and landing and recovery systems. Ability to interpret 3D engineering drawings. General shop skills, including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and contamination control. Knowledge and proficiency in a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, strain gauges, accelerometers, calipers, multimeters, and oscilloscopes. Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties in multiple manufacturing disciplines. Complete knowledge and the ability to apply knowledge of production quality systems and requirements in daily operations. Must be well-versed in safety regulations, including detecting, reporting, and correcting safety issues. Ability to apply physical, mechanical, electrical, and scientific skills to identify, troubleshoot, and solve problems on the job. Ability to locate and isolate the problem, identify possible solutions, and select approaches that are practical and effective. High School diploma or equivalent.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education :
Experience with human-rated spacecraft hardware. Previous Boeing technical certifications and training. Previous experience and training in Boeing Common System production software applications (MES-CAPP, NCM) and model based instructions (MBI). Experience conducting wire harness installation tests, including di-electric withstanding insulation, insulation resistance, and continuity. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methods and the ability to apply knowledge to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
