Terminal Expansion projects are currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. In addition, a new Concourse E is being constructed with 14 gates, as well as other terminal, landside and airside improvements. The Lee County Port Authority is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our electrical and mechanical technician team, where you will enjoy a positive and supportive work environment in a challenging and rewarding career in the aviation industry. This role involves maintaining and repairing critical electrical and mechanical systems using technical knowledge in a fast-paced airport environment. If you enjoy troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with hand tools, power tools, and various measuring and testing instruments, we encourage you to apply! We provide all the necessary tools to support your work, including a safety shoe reimbursement and uniform program with optional laundry service, so you can focus on your tasks. The anticipated starting hourly rate for the ideal candidate is $24.93 and $29.92 Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, and perform preventive maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment (airfield lighting system, emergency generator systems, fuel adjustment, security fencing, parking lots, and roadway lighting)
  • Install and repair electrical and building systems (energy management; parts and components calibration; electrical and pneumatic/hydraulic systems; concrete and asphalt pavements; and, structure repair)
  • Maintain industrial air handlers, pumps, and HVAC systems
  • Perform basic and finish carpentry to include cabinets, shelving, and paneling
  • Plumbing repair (fixture, septic/sewer lines, water sources, and lift stations)
  • Tile, plaster, cement, masonry work, caulking, and painting, including bathroom renovation and flooring
  • Safety compliance
  • Ability to work shifts, including holidays and weekends. Minimum Requirements
  • Must be able to communicate and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • A high school diploma/GED is required
  • Three years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician, HVAC mechanic, electrician, or similar trade is required
  • Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) is required within one year of employment, advanced TTC is preferred
  • A Florida Driver’s License is required, and a CDL is preferred
  • A valid certificate of competency for Lee County or the State of Florida, a journeyman in one of the major building maintenance trades, and/or an EPA Universal Refrigerant License is preferred. Why work here?
