Utilities Electrical/Mechanical Technician NAZTEC Int. Group 6255 North Jog Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33412 Job Summary Performs Electrical/Mechanical Technician work specializing in the repair, and maintenance of electrical and/or mechanical equipment; utilizes knowledge in electrical, and other trades to locate and correct systems malfunctions and operating equipment used in plant operations, treatment and transmission of potable water, wastewater and other industrial electrical/mechanical equipment. Duties 1. Performs preventive maintenance inspections and operational efficiency checks, conducting preventive maintenance service on the electrical and mechanical components of a variety of pumps, LFG compressors, blowers, and supportive equipment machinery. Disconnects, repairs, reconnects, and/or replaces small sized electric motors. Provide some support for SCADA HMI and related equipment. Assist with plant shutdown planning and execution Support efficient and safe daily operations of site utility equipment as required whilst maximizing uptime. Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained to a high standard across the entire facility equipment. Perform other related duties within the Utilities Department as instructed. Qualifications Basic knowledge and/or ability to learn the operational equipment Ability to successfully apply basic computer skills utilizing word processing and spreadsheet functions, such as MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to communicate with peers and subordinates; to respond to inquires, and to make entries on reports and records. Ability to work independently or in a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervising personnel, co-workers, and the public EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Associate (A.S.) degree in science, engineering or other related field, or an equivalent combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experienced in the principles and practical application of electrical and mechanical trade to maintain, repair, and improve Utility operations.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

Valid Florida drivers license with clean driving record.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
