Full Job Description Description:

CLX Engineering needs skilled Panel Builder II’s to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical in assembling, wiring, and troubleshooting high-quality electrical control panels. Candidates in this position are expected to demonstrate a growing awareness of project timelines and budgets and contribute to successful project delivery through technical skill and attention to detail. Our Panel Builder II’s are non-exempt hourly paid employees reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing & Facilities. What You Will Be Doing This is not an entry-level or “learn as you go” position. Candidates must have the ability to independently read electrical schematics and fully wire a panel based on the provided prints with very limited supervision. Panel Assembly and Wiring Assemble electrical control panels in accordance with schematics and layout drawings, with attention to UL508A standards. Wire panel components using standard wiring practices, including correct wire color coding and associated protections. Perform precise tasks such as stripping, cutting, labeling, and terminating wires. Install necessary brackets and hardware during panel construction. Troubleshooting and Testing Conduct functional tests to verify performance and reliability of assembled panels. Identify and resolve most wiring or assembly issues independently. Begin marking up and revising electrical prints as needed to reflect accurate design updates. Collaborating with team members from CAD, Controls Engineering, and Project Management. Tool Proficiency and Workplace Management Use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Maintain a clean and organized workspace that supports safety and production efficiency. Project Management Awareness knowing the . Work with attention to established project timelines and budgets. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure high-quality results. Adherence to Standards Begin applying UL508A standards in construction tasks. Read and understand equipment manuals to ensure accurate installation and operation of components.

Requirements:
Required Job Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of experience in panel building or a closely related field. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Must be able to pass a background check and any required drug screenings. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and perform tasks involving repetitive motion, bending, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to work in environments that may be noisy and subject to extreme heat or cold. Basic proficiency in interpreting and revising electrical schematics and layout drawings. Solid understanding of electrical principles and standard wiring techniques. Familiarity with various electrical components and their proper applications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to maintain a professional and safe work environment. A willingness to take the initiative, assist colleagues, and share knowledge.

Desired Skills:

Working knowledge of UL508A standards and relevant electrical codes. Prior experience revising electrical prints or documentation. A consistent interest in continued skill development and training related to panel building and industry best practices.
