Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrician with specialized experience in fountain motor systems and water feature electrical components . This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems with a focus on motors, pumps, and controls for fountains and decorative water features. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, and a working knowledge of mechanical systems associated with fountains.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures related to fountain and water feature systems. Diagnose and resolve issues with fountain motors, pumps, lighting, and control panels. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fountain electrical components to ensure safe and optimal performance. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams related to fountain systems. Collaborate with landscaping, plumbing, and engineering teams on coordinated maintenance and installation projects. Monitor and maintain water feature timers, GFCI outlets, breakers, and automated control systems. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed. Provide emergency repairs and support during power outages or system malfunctions. Recommend upgrades or replacements for outdated or failing electrical components.
Requirements:
Valid electrician’s license or certification (state or local, as required). Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, with at least 1-2 years focused on fountain motors or similar pump-driven systems. Strong knowledge of single-phase and three-phase motor systems, pump controls, and underwater lighting. Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs), climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Understanding of water feature systems, hydraulics, and general plumbing a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), VFDs, and automated water systems. Background in commercial or resort water features. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus depending on location.
