The Brittain Electric team is seeking a best-in-class Automation Group Manager, willing to roll up their sleeves and exude a passion for the field!
The Group Manager will oversee the installation and troubleshooting of controls & electrical systems on critical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building automation, electrical engineering, project management and managing technicians. The Group Manager is considered the project SME for Electrical systems controls. They will manage and oversee the daily schedule for the field service team, updating project trackers, and working with the customer and other teams to ensure that they’re meeting expectations. What you will do…

Manage Field Service Operations:

Oversee the daily operations of the field service team, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery

Technical Expertise:

Provide technical guidance and support for the installation and troubleshooting of building automation systems and critical electrical infrastructure

Project Management:

Working with the Project Manger to plan, coordinate, execute and track projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

Customer Relations:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other teams for the project, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of field service technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all work complies with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of service activities, project progress, and customer interactions. Prepare regular reports for management What you will need to succeed…
Associate’s degree or an Engineering Degree in a relevant engineering field preferred and/or 5 to 10 years of experience with electrical distribution systems, EPMS/BMS, electrical power testing to include system startups, construction or critical facilities operations
3 to 5 years of field service experience – working with industrial instrumentation, onsite point to point controls validation and working knowledge with preferably any of the following programs/software: Rockwell Factory Talk; Tridium;

Schneider Electric:
Powerlogic/Struxureware Siemens:

Apogee;

Ignition:

Inductive Automation; Eaton Networks; Field Servers; Jace Controllers; Modbus RTU/TCP; Bacnet; Niagara
Experience in the mission critical sector is highly valued
Knowledge of SCADA, EPMS, and PLC systems and low voltage controls systems and how they operate within the EPMS controls umbrella
The ability to read and understand construction Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) drawings and specifications, network, and control wiring diagrams
Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel etc.)
Experience with project management tracking software platforms (Procore, CX Alloy or Primavera)
Excellent communication, frequently communicating with team via email, training, and technical writing skills
Experience with leading and motivating a team in the field
Ability to manage client relationships, collaborate with other teams and deliver projects successfully and profitably
