JTI Electrical is seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to read blueprints, and experience troubleshooting electrical issues. This role requires adherence to safety regulations and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities Electrical Installation & Maintenance:
Install wiring, circuit breakers, electrical panels, outlets, and lighting systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Ensure all work meets National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and local regulations. Troubleshoot and repair faulty wiring, malfunctioning equipment, and other electrical issues. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems. Supervision & Leadership Lead and supervise a crew of 2-5 electricians and apprentices. Train and mentor apprentice electricians, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure project success. Safety & Compliance Follow and enforce OSHA and NEC safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and use proper protective gear to prevent electrical hazards. Ensure all permits and inspections are completed according to local electrical codes. Tools & Equipment Operation Utilize hand tools (wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, saws). Operate testing equipment (voltmeters, ammeters, thermal scanners) to diagnose electrical problems. Work with boom lifts and scissor lifts as needed. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and time worked. Submit daily logs, time sheets, and required paperwork promptly. Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and senior management. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Required) Minimum 5 years of electrical experience (Required) Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and troubleshooting techniques Ability to supervise and lead teams in the field Proficiency with electrical tools, equipment, and safety procedures Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladders multiple times per day Ability to lift, squat, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. daily Ability to work in confined spaces, kneel, or bend for extended periods Comfortable working at various heights using lifts and scaffolding Schedule Monday – Friday Overtime & weekends as needed Benefits 401(k) & 401(k) matching Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance & Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Account Paid Time Off (PTO) Referral Program Retirement Plan
