Electrical Maintenance Technician 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Dalton, GA 30721 Electrical Maintenance Technician – Extrusion and Manufacturing Systems We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician with specialized knowledge in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems across our SPC Extrusion department, Sawing, Milling, Finishing department, and Packaging department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with both automated and semi-automated systems and be proficient in handling electrical components operating at 480V AC three-phase, 230V AC three-phase, and 24V DC. Critical thinking and a deep understanding of production processes are essential for diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues.

On-site Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and repair electrical issues in automated and semi-automated systems within the extrusion, sawing and milling, and packaging departments. Troubleshoot control devices, sensors, motors, and a wide variety of electrical components.

Voltage Systems Expertise:

Work safely with 480V AC three-phase, 230V AC three-phase, and 24V DC electrical circuits.

Process Understanding:

Develop a thorough understanding of production processes to enhance troubleshooting efficiency. Apply critical thinking to identify root causes of electrical issues and implement effective solutions.

PLC and Controls:

Troubleshoot and resolve problems with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and drive-controlled machinery.

Technical Planning:

Utilize electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and drawings for planning and executing repairs.

Preventative Maintenance:

Perform routine electrical maintenance on material transfer piping and other critical systems.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Experience :

Minimum of 3 years in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience troubleshooting control devices, sensors, motors, and various electrical components. Experience working with 480V AC three-phase, 230V AC three-phase, and 24V DC electrical systems. Familiarity with stone plastic composite extrusion processes is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in troubleshooting and correcting PLC and drive-controlled machine malfunctions. Strong understanding of automated and semi-automated systems in manufacturing settings. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Education:

Vocational diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, be on call, and work overtime, including weekends. Relocation package is not offered for this position.
