Low Voltage Technician Confidential Baton Rouge, LA 70801 Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems in various settings, including residential and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. Duties Install and maintain low voltage systems, including security, fire alarm, and communication systems. Renovate existing low voltage installations to meet current standards and specifications. Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete installation tasks. Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure timely project completion. Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Troubleshoot issues with low voltage systems and perform necessary repairs. Work with logic controllers to integrate various system components. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or in a similar role within the electrical field. Familiarity with high voltage systems is a plus but not mandatory. Proficient in using both power tools and hand tools relevant to electrical installations. Strong understanding of frame carpentry as it relates to installation processes. Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients. Certification or training in electrical work or related fields is preferred.
