About this Job
LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking highly skilled applicants for the position of Electrician. The person applying for this position should possess two years of experience in the Electrical trades (such as Electrician’s helper).
The starting rate is $19.67 per hour for this title with an additional $1 Longevity pay. Rate of Pay may be adjusted based on applicant’s’ qualifications.
Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
installs, maintains, alters, and repairs electrical wiring (underground and above ground), conduit (underground, exterior, and interior), external light fixtures and poles (parking lot, sidewalk, and building), interior light fixtures, power appliances, light machinery, electrical controls (switches, breakers, fuses, and panel boxes) i transformers, motor staiters, related switchgear and controls, outlets and all other related electrical circuits and equipment which also includes in house renovations
performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
performs electrical-related demolition and construction work on minor projects as assigned throughout the entire campus
supervises lesser skilled workers in the absence of Electrician Master
campus maintenance emergencies
picking up parts and materials from vendors
assists other trades as needed

This is a Civil Service Position.
This position does not require applicants to take a Civil Service test.
Pre-employment Drug testing, Physical, and Criminal Background check are required.
This position will require selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months.
