Job Title:

Industrial Electrician Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician with Master Electrician-level knowledge and experience in troubleshooting industrial electronic controls at a component level. This includes working with VFDs, DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and associated wiring. Candidates should have a strong understanding of Ohm’s Law and experience with Emerson RX3i controllers and Machine Edition software is preferred. The role involves supporting operations through the installation, programming, start-up, and maintenance of electrical, automation, and process control equipment. Responsibilities Support operations through the installation, programming, start-up, and maintenance of electrical, automation, and process control equipment. Install, program, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation equipment to improve plant system operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs. Support various facility systems including Emerson PLCs, Control Techniques VFDs and DC Drives, SEL MV control and monitoring, bulk cargo belts scales, wireless radios, and related equipment. Work with 120v-4160v motor controls, medium voltage motors, and starters. Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Information Technology teams. Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair equipment/instrumentation related to the unloading, loading, transfer, and storage of cargo, including conveying equipment, AC and DC motors, PLCs and IO modules, VFDs and DC Drives, associated wiring, and power supplies. Work from blueprints, wiring schematics, manuals, or verbal instructions. Essential Skills Master Electrician-level knowledge and experience in troubleshooting industrial electronic controls. Strong understanding of Ohm’s Law. Experience with Emerson RX3i controllers and Machine Edition software. Ability to attain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). Strong PLC troubleshooting skills. Ability to work from blueprints, wiring schematics, manuals, or verbal instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with medium voltage motors and starters. Thoroughness and attention to detail. Industrial technology knowledge. Work Environment The work environment requires meeting ‘fit for duty’ requirements upon job offer, including a pre-employment physical and drug test. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at protected heights up to 130 feet is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role involves performing work in a dusty environment and in all types of temperature/weather conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position.
