Sr. Electrician Position Available In Hampden, Massachusetts

Sr. Electrician (Ice Cream Manufacturing) Perform electrical maintenancetasks on plant utility and process infrastructure. Install and repairelectrical systems, apparatus, electrical components, and electroniccomponents of machinery and equipment following electrical code,manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications. Workwith a limited degree of supervision and complete and/or provideguidance on complex problems and/or new assignments. Function as thego-to subject matter resource for colleagues with less experience.

JOBDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install, andrepair electrical parts, equipment and systems; install or replacecircuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed ? Work on electricalequipment including but not limited to Frequency D drives (VFDs),contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, andwiring ? Safely work with multi-phase, high voltage and low voltageelectrical systems ? Troubleshoot and resolve control networks,instrumentation, PLC devices (Programmable Logic Control), HMI (HumanMachine Interface), VFD, servo, and control problems ? Read, analyze,and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, servicemanuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service ?Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, distributionsystems, motor control centers, and motors ? Assist operators withtraining or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime ? Maintaincommunication with other departments, management, and employees andnotify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict theefficiency of production ? Stay up to date on new products, equipment,technology and techniques ? Utilizing continuous improvement mindset,identify opportunities to improve processes ? Anticipate partsrequirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, andacquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance ? Perform and assistin all operations maintenance activities, in accordance with national,state and local electrical codes ? Use a computerized maintenancemanagement system (e.g., SAP) to record and access maintenance relatedinformation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

? High school diploma or equivalent? Graduation from trade school or technical school in related disciplinepreferred ? 4 to 6 years of electrical maintenance experience,preferably in a manufacturing environment, and automation systemmaintenance experience ? Certification and/or License – Electricianjourneyman license or other location specific electrician license;master electrician preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

? Thoroughknowledge of electrical codes, practices, techniques, tools, andequipment ? Considerable knowledge and application of national, state,local building codes, OSHA, and standard industry safetyrules/regulations pertaining to electrical work ? Able to use standardhand and power tools and equipment used in electrical maintenanceactivities ? Able to use to use ladders and scaffolding in a safe,efficient manner ? Able to work from sketches, drawings, and blueprintsAble to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and takeappropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipmentdown time ? Able to perform complex or complicated electricalactivities/repairs independently ? Able to complete projects fromplanning to installation ? Able to present options and ideas to currentprocesses or procedures ? Able to work effectively in a team environment? Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and inwriting ? Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units ofmeasure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals ? Basiccomputer skills ? Must be able to read, write and speak English
