Job Description
Johnson Service Group, a national recruiting firm, is seeking a Switchgear Electrical Maintenance Technician for our global client in Lewiston, ME. The incumbent will have a strong electrical background and is responsible for LV/HV multi-craft LOTO on a high voltage construction site.

Responsibilities:

Attend project meetings and ensure all personnel are briefed on the LOTO plan pre-shift and participate in walking down the permit to work.
Analyze risks for work on requested activity and complete a written LOTO plan and check list using the relative Single Line Diagram.
Identify equipment that needs removed from service for maintenance or other purposes
Apply Equipment Locks to energy isolation devices to prevent accidental or unauthorized operation as a part of Group LOTO.
When the job is completed, ensure locks and tags are removed and stored back in the LOTO Board and fuses are re-installed and notify all affected personnel.
The Lock Number Directory shall be updated regarding the executed LOTO Plan.
Prepare Warning signs for entire site.

Required:

Technical Degree in electrical field
At least 5 years’ experience performing Lockout/Tagout Coordinator related tasks.
Prior experience performing maintenance tasks on low and high voltage switchgear
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single and three-line diagrams, control, wiring, and layout diagrams, and schematics.
An understanding of the construction and operation of electrical equipment (i.e., how to determine what is and what can become energized), hazards involved and how personnel can be protected from hazards.
Fundamental knowledge of the appropriate protection boundaries (shock and arc-flash) and selection of proper PPE for entering these boundaries.
Previous experience installing and removing temporary protective grounding.
Understand the requirements and the processes for isolation, lockout/tagout and elements of an electrical permit to work.

Additional Information:

6 Month Assignment with possibility of extension based on business needs.
100% onsite
Medical benefits available after 30 days of employment during contract
Schedule will vary, but onsite by 6:30AM and could be 10-12 hour days
OT available, may be up to 60 hours per week
Ability to navigate an industrial environment (Will be mobile, most of the day)
