Responsibilities Position Summary:

Perform skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus and fixtures. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inspect, maintain repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid-state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment. 2. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. 3. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. 4. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. 5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. 6. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. 7. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system. 8. Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. 9. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. 10. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. 11. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. 12. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors. 13. Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment. 14. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. 15. Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. 16. Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. 17. Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications. 18. Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets. 19. Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services. 20. Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards. 21. Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for facilities and equipment. 22. Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers 23. Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations. 24. Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy. 25. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. 26. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc. 27. All other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Subject to exposure to fumes, dust. Subject to exposure to high noise levels required ear protection. Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where the use of appropriate protective/safety equipment is required. Subject to working at heights and in adverse weather conditions. Work includes indoor and outdoor environment. May be subject to after duty callouts.
