Job Description:

This is structure and crafts work of a supervisory nature as a licensed Master Electrician involving the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of street lighting systems, flashing beacons, traffic signal systems, Intelligent Traffic Systems, (ITS), and electrical services which provide traffic control on state highways and bridges. Responsibilities include performing skilled electrical tasks in accordance with standard trade practices, the National Electrical Code, and all state and town electrical regulations. This classification provides formal supervision to subordinate licensed electricians who perform electrical work. Direction is provided to subordinate personnel. Work is performed under limited supervision. To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: A valid current Master Electrician’s license.

Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements:

Maine Master Electrician’s license as issued by the Electrician’s Examining Board and a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification such as Tank Installer license and Bucket Trucks, Backhoe Loaders, and Aerial Scissor Lifts certifications. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.
