Duties + You will lead and train all civilian and military personnel directly to accomplish the work of the assigned shop. + You will coordinate work assignments and provide technical assistance to lower/same grade employees or military personnel assigned on a task basis to assist them. + You will develop daily or short-term work schedules ensuring required plans, materials and tools are available and will assign manpower skills commensurate with priorities and job difficulty. + You will develop a comprehensive training program for Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems and Strategic Weapons System (SWS) of the assigned shop and conduct classroom and on-the-job training of assigned personnel. + You will coordinate with technical and professional personnel on matters affecting operational specifications and changes of equipment; such as validating technical data and test programs results, reporting discrepancies, and recommending solutions. + You will furnish oral and/or written progress reports to the supervisor as required and provide oral and/or written turnovers to the next shift to ensure proper flow of work. + You will ensure safe work practices and good housekeeping practices, and participate in surveillances within the division. + You will order order adequate supplies/training material and ensure all materials are kept at levels needed to support an active training program. You will be subject to random testing. + You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. + Light to moderate physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 110 pounds with assistance. + The incumbent must be capable of ascending and descending vertical and inclined ladders. + The incumbent must be capable of accomplishing work in various physical positions: prone, kneeling, crouching, standing, and stretching. + Work is performed in an industrial area. The incumbent may be exposed to electrical shocks, bruises, high level industrial noises, fumes from solvents, soil from oil and grease, as well as burns caused by electrical shocks, and soldering irons. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
