Job Summary The Industrial Surface Mine Electrician isresponsible for the electrical repair and maintenance for machineryand equipment associated with conveyor systems, pumps, crushers andother equipment at an aggregate production facility. Responsibilities Maintains and troubleshoots electrical equipmentand power distribution throughout the plant Establishes theappropriate procedure to locate and correct electrical problems,and determines electrical component replacements Performs high andlow voltage splices, terminations and stress cones Installs andmaintains high, medium and low voltage power controls on equipmentPerforms necessary maintenance to the equipment and machinery torepair or replace the defective parts Troubleshoot electricalproblems in power circuits 120 – 12,470 volts, in addition tocontrol circuits of various voltages and repair transformers andcircuit breakers May perform a variety of electrical tests todetermine exact cause of issue Performs adjustments and calibrationprocedures on various forms of process equipment Performpreventative maintenance as instructed on all equipment/machineryCollaborates with other department, providing necessary electricalsupport to ensure day-to-day maintenance issues are resolved;maintains an electronic log of any highlights occurring duringshift coverage Performs work area inspection Performs other dutiesas assigned Education High school diploma/GEDRequirements/Qualifications 3-5 years’ experience requiredExperience in the Industrial Electrical field and troubleshootingtechniques Familiarity with NFP 70E, basic AC and C controls andterminology of tools, prints and equipment Must have provenexperience and ability in mechanical, electrical and electronicmaintenance troubleshooting techniques Able to work effectivelyboth independently and as part of a team Able to read andcomprehend electrical blueprints and schematics Strong computer,interpersonal and problem-solving skills Good driving recordAbility to travel to other locations to provide support Ability towork overtime, night and weekend work as needed includingresponding to emergency calls Provide basic tools for routinemaintenance, installation and repair work Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employmentphysical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
