Job Description
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to communicate in English
- 4 years of experience in commercial or naval marine Test Electrician
- Test equipment setup and handling
- Cable Testing knowledge “CAT 5 and Fiber Optic”
- Motor Control and Power Distribution Systems Preferred Design Disciplines
- Knowledge of High Voltage applications
- Proficient with the testing and operation of (Power, Combat, Communication, Radar and Sonar) system

Schematics, Test Procedures and Troubleshooting Job Description:
First-Class Test Electrician, is responsible for the layout, installation and repair of the shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power.
Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprints, drawings and schematics. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts.
As with most every position in the shipyard, an Test Electrician may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.
