$ 30.35-46.81 USD UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Journeyman 1 – Electrician to join our facilities team and help support the critical operations of our hospital. In this role, you’ll ensure the safe maintenance and operation of vital electrical systems including generators, nurse call and paging systems, switchgear, and fire alarms. Your skills will help power the systems that care for our patients—making a meaningful impact every day.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital’s electrical systems and equipment including generators, fire alarm, overhead paging system and nurse call.
Inspect and test lighting, signal communication, control and power circuits and equipment.
Install new wiring and electrical machinery.
Isolate and repair/replace defective wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
Operate and maintain switchgear and electrical machinery.
Perform all work following infection control procedures.
Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.
Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required.
Military experience considered.
2 years’ experience as an Electrician working in a healthcare or commercial building environment.
