Electrical Trainer Job Description We are seeking an experienced Electrician with a minimum of three (3) years in training and supervision in the electrical field, specifically in marine applications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading and interpreting shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages. The role requires someone who can work independently with proper instruction and is proficient in using basic electrical meters and test instruments. Responsibilities Read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages. Work independently with proper instruction. Use basic electrical meters and test instruments, such as volt-ohm meters, clamp-on ammeters, and insulation resistance testers. Perform general deck electrician tasks, including laying off and mounting electrical equipment and wireways, installing cable penetrations in equipment, bulkheads, and decks, installing cables, making cable terminations, and cut-in and hook-up. Use basic electrician hand tools, including pliers, wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and connector crimping tools. Physically capable of climbing vertical and inclined stairs and ladders, crawling, bending, stooping, working at heights, and working in confined spaces. Essential Skills Three (3) or more years of experience in the electrical field, specifically in marine applications. Ability to read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages. Proficiency in using basic electrical meters and test instruments. Experience with general deck electrician work, including laying off and mounting electrical equipment and wireways, installing cable penetrations, installing cables, making cable terminations, and cut-in and hook-up. Proficiency in using basic electrician hand tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Marine Electrical Experience (Absence of Voltage, Electrostatic Discharge, and Arc Flash). Work Environment The position is based in a shop environment at our newly acquired facility in Charleston/Goose Creek, formerly W International. Multiple shifts are available, offering flexibility to fit your schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.95 – $31.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
