South Carolina Basic Job Functions The Maintenance Electrical Trainee position will be part of a maintenance team responsible for the maintenance (predictive, preventative, and corrective), operation, improvement and upgrade of automation, electrical, material handling, and various auxiliary equipment in our Electrical Maintenance Department. The selected individual(s) will be part of the maintenance team working with the production teams to improve safety, quality, costs, reliability, and productivity throughout the facility. This will be an entry level electrical maintenance position that will give the selected teammate exposure to on-the-job training as well as structured training on electrical safety, electrical theory, power distribution, motors and VFDs, instrumentation, computer/network systems, automation systems, mechanical systems, fluid systems and troubleshooting. Upon completion of training, the selected individual(s) will be expected to apply for available shift electrician positions at Nucor Steel Berkeley. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Discipline Related Technical Training Certificate or Associate’s Degree Preferred Qualifications:
