JOB SUMMARY

At West Fraser, our Industrial Electrician is takes with repairing,replacing, installing, programming, and testing all electricalcircuits and equipment. Occasionally, this role will be expected toperform or assist in repairs or installation of electrical controlssystems.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform preventative maintenance on electrical components ofmill equipment. Repair, modify, and maintain a variety of electricalequipment. Wire circuits, replace components, and repair electronicdevices. Perform tests using various measuring instruments to includemulti-meter and Megger. Remain current in technical changes and equipment designs byattending necessary classes as required. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays,weekends, and overtime as required. Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules,regulations, and guidelines to include the wearing of necessaryPPE, the use of safety equipment, and completing all necessarytraining. Other duties as assigned by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a High School Diploma or GED. Eligible to legally work in the United States without employersponsorship. Have a strong background with proven work experience usingelectrical fundamentals. Understanding of 3-phase and single-phase power distributionsystems, motor controls, and wiring. Experience with 480-volt power, logic circuits, and machinecontrol systems. Proven understanding of electrical schematics Possess advanced electrical and electronic troubleshootingskills. Ability to fully identify the features and functions ofcontrollers and differentiate from pneumatic andelectronic. Ability to identify the signal path through a controlcircuit. Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating schedule to includenights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to work on an emergency, on-call, basis asrequired. Ability to work as part of a team to deliver value to the millas a individual and as a whole. Willingness to cross-train to learn new jobs and skills.
