Job Description

Custom Electrical Apprentice 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Sanford, FL 32771

Job Summary:

The residential Custom Apprentice will be responsible for installing residential electrical wiring, recessed lighting, and electrical component according to local NEC codes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Builds utility poles and digs underground trenches to carry cables. Install fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices. Install gang boxes and ceiling boxes. Performs other related duties as assigned. Pull homeruns to dedicated areas marked by Lead electrician. Pull basic circuits and wire lighting. Load/unload tools, extension cords and materials. Use of chipping hammer, cut saw, basic hand tools and powered drills. Clean job site daily

Required Skills/Abilities:

Working knowledge of National Electric Code. Ability to interpret basic drawings. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal apprenticeship preferred. Minimum 3yrs experience for helpers in residential new installation.

Physical Requirements:

Physically able to work with heavy tools and equipment at heights. Must be able to lift 60 pounds at a time to carry heavy cable. Must be able to work from lifts and extension ladders. Must have valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to jobsites if not assigned to a company vehicle with a Lead Electrician.
