A Commercial Electrical Helper provides support to electricians by assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings. This role requires a fundamental understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under the guidance of a senior electrician. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential, as this position involves working with potentially hazardous equipment and materials. Key Responsibilities Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures. Carry and prepare tools and materials for electricians. Follow electrical drawings and specifications under supervision. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and codes. Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
Other Requirements:
Position involves lifting, digging, climbing, drilling, cutting, clean-up installations Must be able to operate all electrical hand tools Bend and run conduit, connect couplings, fabricate and secure conduit support brackets, and use of hand tools Install receptacles and switches Hang and wire light fixtures Drill holes and pull wire/cable through walls, ceilings, and conduit Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals for installing electrical devices Understanding of color codes on wires Transport tools, materials, equipment and supplies on job site by hand or hand truck Understands use of branch material Practice job site safety Maintain required productivity Supervision required; should be working with a mechanic or electrician at all times
