As we expand our operations, we are seeking a motivated Commercial Estimator to join our team and play a key role in the success of our bidding and job costing efforts.

Position Summary:

The Commercial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial fencing projects. This role is primarily office-based (approx. 80%), with field visits (approx. 20%) required for project assessment, site notes, and administrative coordination. The ideal candidate will bring experience in fencing or general construction, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed estimates and job costs for commercial fence projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates Conduct site visits to gather measurements, assess project conditions, and document job-specific requirements Collaborate with sales, project managers, and operations to ensure estimates align with execution plans Maintain organized and up-to-date records of estimates, vendor pricing, and job costing data Participate in bid reviews and support the sales process by providing accurate and timely information Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to meet project budgets and schedules

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in the fence industry or construction (experience with small projects is acceptable) Strong understanding of construction documents, takeoffs, and estimating principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to job sites as needed

Compensation & Benefits:
