Basic Job Functions:
The Sales Estimators primary responsibility is to maximize the long-term success of Nucor by efficiently performing accurate joist & deck takeoffs to create high-quality sales proposals, while also effectively communicating with engineers, customers, and teammates to develop value-added solutions. This position requires a high level of collaboration with the assigned sales office and taking an ownership role with the bid process is critical to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner. + Complete takeoffs from a list or bid information, use NuBid to provide complete and thorough takeoffs, communicate with customers/ engineers/ etc. for scope clarification. + Gain a foundational understanding of joist and deck, a basic knowledge of steel construction industry. Review and comprehend bid information thoroughly. + Recognize the need for a sales engineer review process, before or after an estimate, to aid in proper estimation. As well as recognizing the opportunities for value engineering options or specific customer requests. + Assess the Sales team’s current estimating requirements and allocate time efficiently for each project to ensure timely completion of tasks. Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
